eLearning Courses
Fighting Fairly to Resolve Conflict
In 2023, I created this conflict resolution course to help couples communicate more effectively when experiencing differences. Utilizing scenario-based learning, participants help a young couple implement effective communication strategies to reach a meaningful resolution of their differences. The course was created using Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Illustrator.
Red Flags Rule Training
I created this eLearning course about the Federal Trade Commissions Red Flags Rule using Articulate Storyline 360 and Adobe Illustrator. The goal of the training was to provide bank associates with an overview of the FTC's Red Flags Rule and how to prevent identity theft while conducting business. The module uses scenario-based learning to illustrate the types of red flags bankers might encounter on the job and what to do when they encounter red flags.
Suicide Prevention Training
This suicide prevention eLearning course was created using Articulate Storyline 360. I submitted this project to CU-Denver's Health & Wellness program as a proof of concept for a request for proposal. They wanted a designer to update their outdated suicide prevention Powerpoint presentation with an interactive eLearning course. This was my first project utilizing Articulate Storyline and I explored using variety of multimedia and interactive elements, including video, click-to-reveal, and scenario-based learning opportunities. The project received multiple votes from peer designers for the 'best affect' award.
Social Media Policy Training
I created this compliance training module on our social media policy. The goal of this project was to train associates on our social media policy and proper uses of social media for business purposes. The project utilized multiple real-world linear scenarios and ended with a 'Tweet or Don't Tweet' scenario-based knowledge check. I have provided some screenshots of a few slides from the module. This project was created using Articulate Storyline 360 and is currently in progress.
New Software Systems Training
For this project I designed 25 microlearning modules in Rise 360 that walked associates through how to perform specific functions in our trust and investment management software. The modules consisted of process workflow maps, job aids, instructional gifs and screencast videos. It included two formative and summative scenario-based assessments.
Instructor Led & Virtual Trainings (ILT/VILT)
The Manager Training Program
For this project I was responsible for creating and developing the content for our manager training program. The manager training program is a 16-module leadership development program to help train managers on best practices that foster engagement and accountability. The content was adapted from Gino Wickman's book "How to Be a Great Boss". I was responsible for the creation of eight modules, including content and slide development, learning activities and the facilitator/participant guides. The modules were created using Microsoft Powerpoint. I was responsible for creating the following modules:
1) Do You Have What It Takes? 2) Delegate & Elevate
3) The People Analyzer 4) The 5 Leadership Practices
5) The 5 Manager Practices 6) The Quarterly Conversation
7) Human Capital Basics 8) Interviewing for Managers
Code of Business Conduct
For this project, I adapted our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics policy into a presentation for managers to lead in their individual team meetings. The goal was to synthesize the policy into presentation form to be taught to associates. The project was created using Powerpoint.
Instructional Videos
The People Analyzer
I created this instructional video to show associates how to use the People Analyzer tool for assessing an associate's fit within the organization. The goal of this project was to add a greater visual element to this in-person training in an effort to increase the retention of the material taught. The video was created using Camtasia.
Gamification
Drag & Drop Game
I created this immersive learning experience in Articulate Storyline to help reinforce content in a microlearning course I developed on surveillance capitalism. The game allows learners to absorb content in a fun and engaging way instead of utilizing traditional 'informational dump' methods.
Animations
Pete Project
I created this animation as an introduction to a module I built for manager training. This animation was created using Microsoft Powerpoint and Camtasia and was adapted from a learning video by Ramgopal and the Presentation Process. The goal of this animation was to convey information about the 'delegate & elevate' tool in a meaningful and memorable way.
Infographics
The Quarterly Conversation Infographic
This infographic was created as a job aid for managers on how to lead successful quarterly conversations. The goal of this infographic was to supplement the in-person training materials with a job aid that managers could regularly refer to on how to hold quarterly conversations. The infographic was created using Microsoft Word.
Teacher Residency Admissions Infographic
I created this infographic as a resource for students applying to the NxtGEN Teacher Residency program at the University of Colorado Denver. The goal of this project was to visually showcase the options and steps for new admits. The infographic was created using Powerpoint and was showcased in print format and on our prospective student website.
Podcasts
Podcast on Blue
This was a podcast I created as a design project for my MA. The goal of the podcast was to teach learners about a visual perception using only sound. I chose the color blue. This podcast was created using Soundcloud.
Training Solutions
Solution Design Project
This instructional design project for my MA illustrates my project management skills. For this project I created a fictitious training program to illustrate the lifecycle of an instructional design project from start to finish. This project was created using Microsoft Powerpoint. I applied multiple instructional design theories and frameworks including: ADDIE, Kirkpatrick's Model of Evaluation, Merrill's Principle of Instruction, and Bloom's Taxonomy.
